3 Reasons You Can’t Find Clarity (and Where to Start)

Picture the scene….You’re sitting at the kitchen table with your third cup of reheated coffee, staring at your to-do list that somehow has grown overnight. You want clarity. You want direction. But all you feel is... stuck. Sound familiar?

Let’s talk about why you might be struggling to find clarity, and more importantly, where to begin.

1. You’re asking "What should I do?" instead of "Who am I?"
Clarity doesn’t start with a planner or a new productivity hack. It starts with identity. If you don’t know who God says you are, then every decision will feel uncertain. Start with the question: "Who has God made me to be in this season?" Your calling flows from your identity, not the other way around.

2. You’re overloaded with input and under-filled with truth.
You scroll Instagram for inspiration and end up with comparison. You Google productivity tips but avoid sitting quietly with God. Information overload drowns out clarity. Unfollow the noise. Open your Bible. Journal. Pray. Wisdom doesn’t scream—it whispers. Shiny object syndrome or the latest hack wont help more than His presence, but if we are really honest its often so much easier to pursue.

3. You’re waiting for perfect conditions.
Spoiler: They’re not coming. Clarity often comes as you move, not before. Obedience leads to understanding. Take a small, faithful step. Ask God to guide you in motion, not just in theory. Just take the first step, the next step and trust that he has the plan in hand.

So What can you do today??

journalling

  • Take 10 minutes to journal: "What matters most to me in this season?"

  • Write down one lie you’re believing about yourself and replace it with biblical truth.

  • Take a walk without your phone and ask God to speak to you.

You don’t need to figure it all out. You need to start with who God says you are. Clarity isn’t a destination—it’s a process of alignment.
