10 tips to plan your week with More purpose.

I don’t know if you are anything like me but there was a time when I had all the good intentions in the world to get a lot done in my week. But then…. Life happens, the kids were up during the night, I forgot the bake sale and had to rearrange my schedule for a meeting that came up, etc etc.
It was so easy to get lost and simply live REACTING to my circumstances instead of entering my week with clarity and purpose (still allowing for the inevitable unexpected.)

1.Start with prayer.
Before you grab your planner, pause and ask God for wisdom, clarity, and peace for the week ahead (James 1:5). He cares, He truly cares and things will come to the forefront as you pray.

2.Write it all down.

Get everything out of your head and onto paper — appointments, to-dos, worries, even meal ideas. ALL THE THINGS.  A clear mind helps you focus.

3.Anchor your week with your values.
Ask: What matters most this week? Faith, family, rest, work — choose a few focus points that reflect your purpose. Its ok if this changes week by week or month by month, sometimes there is just an area that needs more attention.

4.Set a weekly rhythm, not a rigid schedule.
Think in rhythms (like cleaning Mondays or family Fridays) instead of packing every hour. It gives structure and flexibility. For example i like to clean the bathrooms the same day every week.

5.Time-block with margin.
Assign time for tasks, but don’t fill every slot. Leave space for real life — the unexpected, the slow mornings, the needed rest. Also I can guarantee that there will be a few thing son your list that will take you much longer than you expected!

6. Prioritise your soul care.
Time with Jesus isn’t optional — it’s essential. Schedule it like you would a non-negotiable appointment and keep to it! Fill yourself with the word, worship do it however it work for you.

7.Batch your tasks.
Group similar tasks together (emails, errands, chores) to save mental energy and reduce decision fatigue.

8.Prep your meals and your mindset.
A quick plan for meals = fewer stress spirals at 5 pm. And its ok to eat the same thing a couple of times a week.

Bonus: plan some truth-filled affirmations or verses for your week too.

9.Celebrate small wins.
Whether it’s staying calm during a meltdown or sticking to your quiet time — notice and thank God for the progress. Its easy to be your own worst critic but acknowledging that you are changing is so important for growth.

10.Have Grace for yourself!
Life won’t go perfectly to plan — and that’s okay. Purposeful planning isn’t about perfection, it’s about intentional living, and if every once in a while the whole plan goes put the window, the world is unlikely to actually end!

REMEMBER It’s ok to start slow! Just try implementing one of these at a time and see how you go.
Let me know which one you are going to add to your routine first!
